今回の個展タイトルは「明鏡（めいきょう）」です。
この頃は、日本人として何を引き継いてきているのかということも含めて、個人としての自分（個人）、集団の中の自分（個人）はどうなのか
ということを考えながら作品を制作しております。
自分を冷静に見る・認識することでこれからの目的が明確になったり、身の回りの状況をより把握できるようになるのではと考えておりますが、
そのためには自分自身を見るためもの（鏡）に曇りがないことが肝要になります。
絵と向き合う行為もまた、自分自身が何を見て何を感じる人間なのかを知る手掛かりと考え、今回の個展における作品が、
鑑賞者それぞれが持つ鏡の曇りを除く手立ての一つになればと願っております。

（English）
The title of this solo exhibition is“Meikyo” (meaning “clear mirror”).
At this time, I have been creating works while thinking about what I am as an individual and how I am in a group as individual,
including what I have inherited as a Japanese person.
I believe that by seeing and recognizing myself calmly, I will be able to clarify my future purpose and better grasp the situation around me,
and for this reason, it is essential that the mirror in which I look at myself be clear and unclouded.
I believe that the act of facing a painting is also a clue to understanding what we ourselves see and feel,
and I hope that the works in this exhibition will be a means of removing the fogging of the mirror held by each viewer.

「松濤 しょうとう」 described as 「sound of wind rustling in the pine needles (like waves)」
「松」 Pine trees symbolize health, longevity, and immortality due to their evergreen appearance.
In addition, pine needles are edible and good for one’s health, and I plan to bring across to this Taiwan Solo Exhibition,
message including their blessing and talisman meanings.
As for the wave indicated by the character 「濤」, it is a recurring and persistent one that comes and goes.
I wanted to express my wish that the blessings and talismans entrusted to the pine tree would last for a long time.

「生活に少しの楽しさといろどりを」をテーマに、やきもので動物たちをモチーフとした見た人が思わず笑顔になる愛らしく存在感のある作品を制作する柴田菜月と、

a 2 person show of recommended artists Natsuki Shibata and Takashi Shibata held at Karuizawa New Art Museum Shop located in Karuizawa, Japan.
With the theme of “a little fun and varieties in life”, Natsuki Shibata who creates yakimono pottery works using the motif of animals with an adorable presence that makes the viewer smile,
Takashi Shibata, who colorfully depicts a thrilling scenery that feels like you have wandered into the depths of a mysterious forest inside a fantastic world,
please enjoy the artworks that weave various stories for each viewer.

Giant Mango in collaboration with Wrong Gallery will be holding a solo show for a second time “HUIT SOLO SHOW 2022″.
We will be showing a wide variety of art from big size works to smaller 5 by 5 cm pieces with some Taiwan motif/theme
created exclusive for this show.
The show will open from June 4th, Saturday 2:00pm.
